ATENÇÃO FARMACEUTICA A PACIENTES GERIÁTRICOS: REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA
Abstract
Objective: To carry out a bibliographic review on pharmaceutical care for geriatric patients, in order to understand how pharmaceutical care is provided to this population and what are the main recommendations to ensure safe and effective therapy. Method: This was a narrative review of the literature with a qualitative databases: Latin American approach. To select the articles, a search was carried out in the and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Digital LIbrary Online (SciELO), in Health Sciences (DeCS) of the Virtual Library in Health, with the descriptors: pharmaceutical care, geriatric patients and polypharmacy, using the Bboolean operator “AND” to associate them when crossing keywords.Results: 15 publications were selected to compose the final sample of this bibliographic review, starting from an examination of publications through investigation by similarity of ideas and conceptions.Conclusion: It was concluded that the pharmacist corresponds to the competent professional for the promotion of meticulous therapeutic care, essential to the health of the elderly population that uses polypharmacy, promoting the rational use of medicines and causing a better quality of life, favoring an appropriate prescription and safe, in addition to an individualized monitoring of pharmacotherapy, contributing to the health and well-being therefore, reducing drug interactions. of the patient and, KEY-WORDS: pharmaceutical care. Resumo
Objetivo:Realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a atenção farmacêutica a pacientes geriátricos, de modo á compreender como a assistência farmacêutica é prestada a essa população e quais são as principais recomendações para garantir uma terapia segura e efetiva. Método: Tratou-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura com abordagem qualitativa. Para a seleção dos artigos foi feita uma busca nas bases de dados: Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Biblioteca Digital Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS) da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, com os descritores: atenção farmacêutica, pacientes geriátricos e polifarmácia, utilizando o operador booleano “AND” para associá-los durante o cruzamento das palavras-chave. Resultados:Foram selecionadas 15 publicações para compor a amostra final desta revisão bibliográfica, partindo-se de um exame acerca das publicações por meio de investigação por similaridade de idéias e concepções. Conclusão:Concluiu-se que, o farmacêutico corresponde ao profissional competente para a promoção do cuidado terapêutico minucioso, essencial à saúde da população idosa que emprega a polifarmácia, promovendo o uso racional de medicamentos e ocasionando uma maior qualidade de vida favorecendo uma prescrição apropriada e segura, além de um acompanhamento individualizado da farmacoterapia, contribuindo para a saúde e bem estar do paciente e, com isso, reduzindo as interações medicamentosas.
